Question: Do you think that children should always obey their parents? Why or why not? Please give an example to support your opinion.
I don't think that children need to obey all the time. Even parents can make mistakes sometimes, so we should follow our own value. They can be too strict because they love their children. In my case for example, I wanted to accept an exchange student as a hostfamily when I was in jr.high school. I really wanted to know another culture and the way of thinking. I was a kind of volunteer, but I thought it would be a great experience for me. It was a easy way to talk with foreigners. my parents however, never allowed me to be a hostfamily. They told me that our house was too small to host a overseas student. I was completely against them. In my opinion, we don't host them but accept them as a family member. We don't need a big, gorgeous house, we need a welcome heart and curiosity about another culture. I told my parents that again and again but they didn't change their mind. My parents might not have any interests in learning a new country so much. It was really important for me to touch different culture. I couldn't be a hostfamily because it was my parents' house of course, but I joined ESS club. Sometimes parents and children have different opinions. Parents can give advice to their parents, but children decide what they do. It's a little bit hard, but I ask to myself if it is my opinion or not so that I won't regret at all.
