Too Much Attention

1) How is Blanche Sweet and her father's relationship the same or different from modern father/daughter relationship?

I think father's attitude to two of his daughters was a little different. Blanche Sweet was a "good daughter" and she always obeyed her father. She didn't put any makeup on and didn't have a boyfriend. On the other hand, the modern sister who had general father/daughter relationship wore makeup all the time and she was attractive. She was totally different from her sister. Perhaps the father should have treated his daughters the same way, but it was difficult. If the father told Blanche something, she did whatever her father hoped and decided, but another one didn't listen to him and did whatever she liked. So the father seemed to give up to tell something to his modern daughter. But Blanche was a perfect daughter for him, so he cared about Blanche too much. I think "too much attention" was the thing that was different from modern father/daughter relationships.
