I was impressed by a lot of things in East Coast Trip. I hadn't known very much about American history, but I learned about it in classes and from my friend, SHIORI :-) So I could enjoy everything, I think.
The best impression was, of course, Lincoln Memorial! Because when I was a junior high school student, I learned about the Martin Luther King Jr. So I know him and his speech. In the trip, I could go there, where he stood and made a speech, Lincoln Memorial. Right of a picture is the statue of Lincoln. What a big statue!
When I stood here, I thought, "What was he thinking during speech?" "What did he feel?" The sight was very magnificent moreover, it was in front of Lincoln. The trip was favored by magnificent weather as far as you can see the pictures. They were sunny and warm! On the day when we took on AMTRAK, it was rainy. But it was OK for us! :-P
This is the statue of Henry David Thoreau. He was interested in living a simple life. Also his book, Walden, was very famous. His book was impressing to Martin Luther King Jr. so he made a speech, "I have a dream." I was interested in the story so my favorite place is Lincoln Memorial and Thoreau's house.
Finally, Beacon Hill is also my favorite place! Because there was very gorgeous. However, I don't want to live there. Because I am not gorgeous so it doesn't match for me. I live in Nishinomiya, Hyogo in Japan. I thought the atmosphere of Beacon Hill was like Ashiya, Hyogo. What do you think?East Coast Trip was very very good experience for me:-) The trip was sometimes so busy but I could get more important things. I want to say " Thank you" to my family, MFWI teachers, advisors, of course, my group, GROUP 20 ! :-)

Wow, Mizuho! Great post! But I think you could live on Beacon Hill! Louisa May Alcott did and she was a very down-to-earth person. My friend lived there for a while too, and she's a regular person! So...yes, you can!
ReplyDeleteOh...thank you :-) I'm glad! If I lived in Beacon Hill, I would invite you! Now, I miss ECT;-) I want to keep staying there!
ReplyDeleteI like Beacon Hill too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think it is like Ashiya.
Buildings were so cute!
I want to live there once.
